      I built a big ear. Stainless ‘salad bowl’ about 3 feet wide, amplifier circuit built on a 1”x1” pcb, mini-microphone in center of bowl. Powered by 9v battery, ear buds for audio. Directional and worked very well.

      Might look stupid but it actually works. Cup your hands behind your ears and you will be able to hear something at a distance much better and cut down on the surrounding noise.

    5. Seems like something you’d see in an Airplane movie, or maybe a Mel Brooks flick.

      He was considered lucky back in my day we had to wear 100ft dishes on our ears The kids nowadays will never know the struggles of listening out for aircraft 😂.
